Music pick of the day

Music has always had an important place in my life.  I've spent years playing the piano, and have been teaching now for several years.  I've always enjoyed making and listening to music - it's so therapeutic, no matter what the situation.  For as long as I can remember, music has been the coping mechanism that has been near and dear to my heart.  So, I wanted to share another song that I've been listening to lately.  It came on the radio yesterday, and I was just overwhelmed with the message.

The lyrics are below for you to read.  The first verse alone reminds me of the peace I have because because I have trusted in Christ - "though my heart and flesh may fail." No matter what this life may hold for me, the best is yet to come.  One day, there will be no more sorrow, no more pain.  I'll be in heaven with Christ - my faith will be realized, and I'll be praising God with the angels.

Now, in all reality, I have every expectation of beating breast cancer - I expect to be cured, and live a long life, Lord willing.  Medically speaking, my long term outlook is very good, and I think I have a better chance of being hit by a car than dying of breast cancer.   But there's nothing like being diagnosed with a life threatening disease to make you think.  Someday life on earth will be over, and I'm so thankful that the grave will not be the end.  And knowing that no matter what, my future lies in heaven, I can say, "it is well," despite the pain and frustration of having cancer.  Jesus has overcome!

I Will Rise - by Chris Tomlin
There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

[Chorus:]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

[Chorus:]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
[x2]

[Chorus:]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
