Practical help for Joplin, MO victims

I hate hearing about natural disasters and feeling helpless.  And yet, at this time in my life, I can't just get in my car and go help the victims from the Missouri tornados.  Neither can I write a huge check and send it off.

But I do have extra stuff that I don't need, such as toiletries, shampoo and conditioner, razors, that I've gotten for free/almost free.

And, I just saw a post from  Crystal at MoneySavingMom.com with an address and info about sending stuff to help the tornado victims.  The relief efforts seem to be focused in Joplin, but my understanding is that the organization is also reaching out to all the smaller areas around Joplin that were hit.

::Non-perishable Food (most are without electricity and gas, so sending food that doesn’t need to be cooked is especially helpful)
::Toiletries (deodorant, shampoo, soap, body wash, razors, shaving cream, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
::Diapers, wipes, formula
::Towels
::Clothing

Please send the items to:
The Bridge
3405 S. Hammons Blvd
Joplin, MO 64804

They will distribute them to those who need them most.
Be sure to package your items securely. Wrap any bottles or items that might leak in plastic, to prevent spills in the box. If you are sending towels or clothing, please send items that are in good condition.
