Chemo is not my favorite.

Well, this will be quick, because my pilllow is calling, but I made it through my first round of chemo.  I was so scared that I was shaking for a good hour or two, but my nurses are really really nice, and one of them introduced me to another woman about my age, with breast cancer, who has already been through a lot of chemo.  She was really helpful, and between her, my super-friendly nurse, Dave, and my parents, I eventually stopped shaking and settled in.

The first drug is this creepy red stuff that a nurse with special coverings has to personally push into my IV.  The second drug they put in makes me feel like I have an instant sinus infection.  Yuck.  The good news is that the sensation is going away.

Right now, my mouth tastes like metal, and food tastes really weird.  And I need a nap.

So, you can pray for me - pray that I wouldn't get too sick, pray that I would be able to give myself the shots starting tomorrow, and pray that the chemo would take all the cancer cells away!

Thanks for your prayers, and your support.  They mean so much!

  2. Kelli: Just wanted to let you know that we continue to lift you up in prayer as well. A verse from Nehemiah speaks of the strength from the Lord,

Ne 8:10 Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our LORD. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

We pray that you will experience the joy of the Lord during these difficult times. Jeff & Susan

  3. Hi,

This is Dick. We are midway through blueberry pancakes and real maple syrup and thinking of you and David. Reading your blog makes me remember to be thankful for the many little gifts that the Lord has given us that are associated with tastes and smells and the comfort of a leisurely morning breakfast together. We miss you guys dearly.

Suzanne, Stephen and Cole finally got here yesterday noon after a series of missed or cancelled flights.

    Love you all.
